My name’s Jan Stifter. I am an engineer, and one of my biggest passions is aviation.
I studied at Brno University of Technology, at the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design, where I earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2018. My thesis was focused on fluid-induced instabilities in shafts mounted in journal bearings. One of the outputs was also a paper published by ASME. Right after I finished my studies, I was offered a job at the university and joined the Tribology group for a few months as a research assistant with a goal to improve the laboratory test rig I was developing as the main part of my thesis.
After university, I worked mainly in aerospace companies as a Design Engineer — integrating a fully electric powertrain into the existing airframe of a full-composite four-seater, and designing cockpit and cabin interiors from composite materials.

Apart from aviation, I enjoy rock climbing and spending time with friends.
